Trees don't grow perfect. Especially California Walnut trees.
I trimmed this burl growth off the side of a walnut log and it basically landed on our waste pile. A few years later I dug it out of the dirt and saw potential. Solid bronze discs, welded and polished, are positioned flush with the wood surface. The bronze base, clean and simple, adds an architectural quality. The message is clear: don't throw away beautiful wood scraps!
