THE FOUR SEASONS
The Four Seasons is a towering, undulating helix of hand-sculpted wood.
Rising to meet the viewer’s gaze, the sculpture’s verticality acts as a silent mirror to the human form, suggesting that we, too, are vessels of constant transition— rooted in the earth yet perpetually spiraling toward a higher, illuminated state of being. This chromatic progression, along with its dynamic, twisting form, visually embodies the perpetual movement and transformative essence of the changing seasons and the passage of time.
It is constructed from numerous individual triangular elements, connected by traditional woodworking finger joints that create visible, interlocking patterns along its spine. These joints serve as intricate visual links and focal points. The piece transitions in finish from a dark, rich Java Oak in “the front”, to a warm, shimmering Moon Gold Leaf in “the back”.
