VIENNA Soft Edge

With its sculptural base and soft, flowing silhouette, the VIENNA Soft Edge Dining Table is made for interiors that value quiet confidence over spectacle.

The top's shape is a graceful compromise between a hard rectangle and a true oval. It’s gentle curves beg your touch and welcome you into a gathering space where conversations linger long after the plates are cleared. The top rests on sculptural brushed bronze pedestals that rise cleanly from the floor and sweep into broad feet, their ends curling into a classic scroll motif. Because the pedestals are set deep beneath the table, the California Black Walnut top extends far past them in a dramatic cantilever, and it appears to float. A thick, fully radiused edge softens the form, and a solid bookmatch top enhances the symmetry of the pedestals. Vienna, the city, was the epicenter of the 19th century Biedermeier style, which through simplicity, refined elegance, and craftsmanship-over-ornament was a forerunner of modern design.
